They contacted me right away and sent me a replacement. There was no run around. I am a Fnova customer for life! I played with the replacement opening and closing it etc. and it's perfect. If you need a compact quality umbrella that dries fast and is sturdy. Buy this you won't regret it!Earlier Review:I used it twice. I went to close it the second time and heard a pop. This thing is crap. I live in Florida and we get some pretty nasty storms blowing through here all the time. During the summer, it's almost a daily event. One of the hinges broke the first time I opened it but it was still usable. The first wind gust over 20 mph turned it inside-out. Then came tropical storm Hermine and now it is completely useless. A waste of money. Shame on you, Fnova. This umbrella is not as advertised.Addendum: Within a day of my initial 1-star review being posted, Sarah contacted me with an apology for my experience and offered to replace my umbrella at no charge and no return of the faulty product was necessary. All she requested was that I send her a picture of the area of the umbrella that broke so she could forward it to the production engineers. My new umbrella arrived promptly, as promised. Sarah followed that up with an email to make sure that I was indeed satisfied. I haven't had the opportunity to try the new umbrella but I will say that the Customer Service experience was top-notch, 5 Stars. Thank you, Sarah & Fnova!

However unless you're regularly being sprayed with a pressure hose in the middle of a hurricane while on the Atlantic ocean, this degree of waterproofing is probably overkill for the average user. Still nice to have though.Seller: Built Strong & Durable to Fight The Winds, up to 55 MPHMe: To truly engineer against 55mph gusts, the canopy needs to have a double layer which this one does not. It might hold up to 55 MPH head on, but that just isn't how wind blows. So I'm somewhat dubious of this claim.
